On Friday 21 October 2022, representatives from Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Perak came to TWI Malaysia to visit students sponsored by the council to undergo the Program Latihan Kemahiran Asnaf.
Ms. Norfazila Binti Bawadi the Manager of the asnaf education unit accompanied by Ms Noraini Binti Zaini Assistant Manager of the Sub-Unit, expressed their hopes for the future of these students as well as their enthusiasm regarding the program.
The session ended with a tour of TWI Malaysia’s facilities and a demonstration of welding training that has been running at the training center.
The Program Latihan Kemahiran Asnaf is fully sponsored by Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Perak to train 14 students from all over Perak to go through practical welder training up to 3G/6G positions, CSWIP Visual Welding Inspection, appreciation of basic NDT training, and the Oil and Gas Safety Passport (OGSP) by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the CIDB Green Card training courses during 4 months. Candidates will also be given English lessons so they can be prepared for employment on international projects. After completing all these courses, candidates will be evaluated on their completed CSWIP modules, and they will go through a job placement process.
This programme is aimed at improving the standard of living of Asnaf, B40 group income (eligible to receive Zakat aid collected from the Muslim community), and Tahfiz students by providing them with the necessary qualifications, training, and access to world-class educational facilities.
