A factsheet produced by the GeoSmart project consortium, of which TWI is a part, has been highlighted by CORDIS - the European Commission's primary public repository and portal to disseminate information and results from European Union funded research projects.
CORDIS, The Community Research and Development Information Service, published a short summary offering an overview of the factsheet, detailing how the electricity price crisis has led many to believe that the current electricity market is not functioning optimally, which has opened the way for discussions over future policies.
The full factsheet, which you can see below, provides an insight into some potential solutions, including the application of price caps and the taxation of windfall profits, the decoupling of the electricity and gas markets, and the division of electricity market remuneration between zero carbon sources and others, with a focus on fossil fuels.
