TWI attended a year 11 careers fair for students at The Perse School in Cambridge on 10 November 2022.
This event provides students entering Sixth Form with an opportunity to speak with delegates from a variety of professions and for delegates to talk to young people currently choosing their career path.
This was the first time that the event returned to its in-person format, after being cancelled during the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, Pedro De Sousa Santos was joined by Principal Project Leader, Briony Holmes and Project Leader, Ricky Wong to represent TWI at the event.
There was a great deal of interest in the work of TWI from both boys and girls (as well as their parents), who were also given information about the opportunities at the National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) at TWI Cambridge.
TWI has been supporting the school’s year 11 careers convention for several years and it was great to be able to explain what TWI does, talk about routes into engineering and working at TWI, as well as speaking to the students about work experience and more.
