An official meeting was held between representatives of TWI Caspian Sea (Azerbaijan Branch), Karim Shakuri, and the university employees of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
This university is one of the most important and fundamental universities in the country, which prepares qualified personnel not only for the oil sector but also for local industries as a whole. The university takes honor in maintaining the principles of training educated personnel in the fields of oil and gas, chemistry, etc.
Among the attendees were, Sakit Samadov the rector's advisor on university ındustrial cooperation and work with graduates, Professor Lala Bekirova the head of the " ınstrumentation engineering" department, Bahruz Nazarov director of the university's public relations and marketing department, as well as selected staff of the faculty and students.
Karim Shakuri presented the activities of TWI Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan and in the region, as well as the activities of TWI Ltd in the world. The presentation briefed the attendees on TWI’s international training in the fields of Welding Inspection, Painting and Coating Inspection, Non-Destructive Testing, Cathodic Protection, Plant Inspection, International Welding engineering, HSE, examinations, and certificates, as well as engineering and other technical services provided by TWI. The presentation was well received by the audience and an interactive question and answer were held following that. A discussion on technical topics was held at the end of the presentation with the aim of creating the basis for close cooperation with the university in training high-quality specialists for the industry.
In the meeting, the role of TWI as a bridge in establishing relations between the university and industrial enterprises was highlighted. In addition to training, certification, and internship, it was also noted that the development of research-oriented directions in the university is of special importance.
Karim Shakuri expressed his interest in the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of "Quality Control and Diagnostic Methods and Devices" at the master's level in the "Instrumentation Engineering" department. For this purpose, the topic of students taking advantage of international certificates (CSWIP, BGAS-CSWIP) provided by TWI in accordance with their qualifications in addition to internships at TWI was discussed.
TWI Caspian Sea plans to build connections with other universities and create a Student-Graduate program. Moreover, these types of collaborations can further expand the knowledge of students and graduates, making them international experts and presenting them at the global level.
