TWI technology consultant, Doug Wylie had an eventful year, as he was awarded two very different awards in 2022.
The first award came in July as he completed the ‘Outlaw Nottingham’ long distance triathlon. Explaining how he had been “consumed by training” for nine months for this challenge, Doug said he was relieved to have completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run!
Fortunately, the next award was less physically demanding as Doug was honoured to be named as one of four Vice Presidents of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT).’
This professional recognition comes after no less than 14 years spent serving on BINDT committees, with Doug saying, “It reminded me that I'm part of a large diverse group of exceptional people in the NDT community.”
We would like to congratulate Doug on both of his amazing achievements, which perfectly show his dedication, whether through his years of professional work in the NDT community or in taking on and completing the physical challenge of the Outlaw event.
