Our technicians work in a wide range of roles in welding and joining research and development, including chemistry, metallurgy, welding (both conventional arc welding and novel processes encompassing lasers, electron beam and friction), non-destructive testing, fatigue of structures and strengths of materials, corrosion testing and endurance, design office and machine shop.
Our technicians work closely with our project leaders, engineers and metallurgists with the construction and use of equipment for experimental work, the recording and interpretation of test results, and other features of research investigation.
