To support you in building quality into your products and meet customer demands, TWI engineers can provide unofficial audits by welding and process engineers – based upon production best practice and guided by the scope of related codes and standards such as ISO 3834. The output can be a combination of recommendations on the day of the visit; followed up by a summary report.
This can provide a good grounding to determine gaps and areas for improvement, from the point of view of general shop floor improvement or as a pre-cursor to working towards full accreditation against a recognised scheme (see below).
Certification bodies, which are managed and governed separately from TWI, offer both professional and company certification schemes:
- CSWIP – Certification scheme for Personnel
- WFCS 3834 – Welding Fabricator Certification Scheme
- CAESAS 1090 – Conformity Assessment of the Execution of Steel and Aluminium Structures
- CWRVC 15085 – Certification for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components
Health and Safety Assessments
Maintaining a safe working environment is essential. TWI has extensive knowledge of all aspects health and safety in welding and cutting applications. We can provide support on applying best practice in health, safety and accident prevention; be it through brief enquiries or on-site visits. These can cover general assessments (as part of a shop floor audit) or bespoke reviews related to specific concerns. Examples include welding fume - control or assessment, and recent changes in legislation related to electromagnetic fields (EMF) in manufacturing environments.
