TWI hosted a webinar dedicated to testing in the aerospace industry on 22 February 2023, with the recording now available to view online.
The event saw 145 people register from 35 different countries to hear presentations from speakers from TWI and TEC-Eurolab.
Manufacturing in the Aerospace industry involves many different materials, processes and teams working together and supplying each other to produce a highly complex and safety critical products.
Testing is an important part of the production process for aerospace parts, helping to ensure that the product will perform safely and in line with design criteria.
With the drive towards Net Zero, the aerospace industry is in the midst of a technology revolution, which is creating new challenges around legislation, materials, processes, designs, propulsion methods and skills.
This has created increased scrutiny on product development procedures for the industry and the need to reduce development costs while maintaining the required high levels of safety, performance, durability and quality.
TWI and TEC-Eurolab have distinguished track records in delivering bespoke, standard and innovative testing services over many years for the aerospace sector.
The webinar explored the current and evolving test requirements and methods for the aerospace industry along with shifting trends in the sector that will inform how testing might develop to accommodate the current disruptive nature of change.
Including parallels between the aerospace and space sectors, the webinar identified practical issues based on real-world experience. In case you missed this online event, or if you would like to revisit it, you can see a recording of the webinar, below:
